It’s difficult to describe the scope of Georgian Bay until you see it for yourself. With views that extends past the horizon, it’s easy to forget that Georgian Bay is part of the Great Lakes – Lake Huron to be exact. Many exciting and thriving communities like Collingwood, Thornbury, Wasaga Beach, Meaford, and Tiny. Georgian Bay is an ideal location to search out a perfect waterfront opportunity.
Georgian Bay properties include private cottages, townhome and condo communities, and deeded lake access properties. There are several landscapes that include sandy beach shoreline, protected shorelines where a private dock is an option, sunrise and sunset views. You can be close to the food and shopping scene of the quaint towns or find a quieter stretch that is still only minutes to amenities.

Areas to consider your search can be in the east to Tiny beaches that offers a lot of sandy beach options that offers great sunset views for the most part. Family friendly beaches ideal for kids as well.
Wasaga Beach
Wasaga Beach is the longest fresh water beach in the world. Yes, you heard that right. It stretches 8.7 miles and is a very popular summer destination for tourists. Waterfront homes in Wasaga can include direct beachfront as well as homes with private docks in the river that has direct access to Georgian Bay.

Collingwood
Collingwood has a selection of water communities that offer condo and townhomes, as well as freehold properties with private marinas for homeowners. There are also some very beautiful stretches of waterfront private homes that include Princeton Shores, Long Point, Brophy’s Lane, Blue Mountain Drive, and others. If the property does not allow docking for your private vessel, there are several marina options for seasonal slips.

Thornbury
Thornbury is one of the quaintest waterfront towns you can find. Great restaurants and shopping are just minutes from almost any of the waterfront areas. Bayview Drive is a popular location that is an easy bike ride to town and easy jump on the Georgian Trail. There is also Cameron Street, where we are actually filming from at one of our listings, that is a more mature neighbourhood with privacy between most homes with the mature trees. One end of Cameron is more lake level and to the west there is an area that offers a little elevation and then drops off again to more lake level. Some of the properties like 149 Cameron offer protected shoreline and dockage for your boats and toys. A few like this listing even offers boat houses. There is a mix of beach, steeper cliff like properties and some more rocky areas. There is also Lora Bay that is a golf course community with a lot of the homes offering great views and they all have access to a beautiful community beach.
Thornbury Waterfront Properties
Meaford
Meaford is another great option to the west and the last town before Owen Sound. Meaford offers some spectacular options as well with the waterfront offering more traditional cottages to some pretty spectacular homes. Up toward Kiowana beach you seem so secluded and in nature and yet just 10 minutes to town.
